The Role

We have a new opportunity to join the team, as we are now looking for an engineer to lead the front-end development of the platform.

What you’re likely to be doing day-to-day:

  • Lead development of all front-end components of the platform (currently a web-app)

  • Work with the UI/UX designer and product manager to implement interface designs

  • Work with the back-end engineers to ensure a seamless user experience

  • Build out the front-end engineering capability and help to grow the team

Some of the skills you will need to have on day one:

  • Wide experience of using React JS, Redux, HTML5, CSS, NPM and RESTful APIs

  • Familiarity with AWS including API gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, Cognito, Git, Postman

  • Ability to work in an agile SecDevOps environment with globally-dispersed engineers

  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript, including the latest features in ES6

  • Solid experience unit testing with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Jest

  • Proven track-record of building single-page web apps using secure RESTful APIs

The most important qualities you will need:

  • Highly collaborative, but also able to work autonomously

  • Ability to learn exceptionally fast and a track record of success in challenging circumstances and diverse environments

  • Passionate that data will deliver game-changing outcomes to our users

  • Happy to take on very broad responsibilities and lead whenever necessary

  • Simultaneously idealistic and pragmatic

The Process

How we get to know each other

A poor fit is bad news for you and for us. So let’s be open, honest and rigorous throughout - it’s a big decision and we both need to make sure it’s the right decision. Here’s what to expect:

  • Let’s chat - An initial chat on the phone or a VC (15 minutes)

  • Let’s meet - Face to face discussions with multiple members of the team - some of which will get technical (60 minutes)

  • Let’s do some stuff - We’ll find something REAL for us to work on together and see how it goes (2-3 hours)
